Brian O. Phillips - New Jersey Attorney

Brian O. Phillips, Esq.

Brian O. Phillips practices in the areas of civil litigation, criminal defense and appellate law. He is currently admitted to the Bar of New Jersey and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Mr. Phillips graduated from Widener University School of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate degree in 2007.

While at Widener Law, he was qualified as a Certified Legal Intern by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and defended clients through the Widener Pennsylvania Criminal Defense Clinic. During law school, Mr. Phillips worked as a law clerk for a general practice law firm in Montgomery County on cases involving criminal law, personal injury, family law, zoning and property law, business law, and workers’ compensation. He competed in the 2006 National Trial Advocacy Competition at Michigan State University College of Law, and was a member of the winning team for the 2007 Widener Law Hugh B. Pearce Mock Trial Competition. Mr. Phillips earned the Certificate of Achievement in Appellate Practice & Procedure, taught by the Honorable Joseph T. Walsh, retired Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court. Before starting law school, he was a clerk for the District Court in Montgomery Township.

Mr. Phillips earned his undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication from Michigan State University in 1992. At Michigan State he was a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the International Honor Society in History. For ten years, he lived and worked in Washington, D.C., where he was an award winning producer and director of documentary and public relations films/videos.

Mr. Phillips is the past President of the Widener Law Brehon Society (Irish Law Society), a member of the Philadelphia Brehon Society, and serves on the leadership council of Trinity Church in Ambler.
